This post is a little bit off my “design based topic of this blog” But I don’t like to restrict myself to just design here…I do love to share everything that truly inspires me or what turns my head. Another one of my inner passions is nutrition, aromatherapy and in general ‘healthy living’.
There are so many ways to unblock ourselves from the torturous “creative block” I like burning uplifting essential oils in the office if I can’t get out and enjoy my daily dose of sunshine.
Lately I have been reading some great books also experimenting with some fantastic recipes for making great healthy fresh raw juices, natural skin care products – which feed your skin with natural ingredients (not products that are filled with preservatives, numbers and figures with random words you have no idea how to pronounce, let alone what they are actually in the product for). This experiment has been really fun and interesting at the same time and my body feels much better for it too.
Iv’e listed the books here below. Its amasing how simple and easy some of these recipes are to make. They may not last 2 years in the fridge or cupboard but they are much better for your body. Ya might learn a thing or too also! I did! 😀
Raw Juices – Can save your life! – Dr. Sandra Cabot
This is an “A – Z Guide of Juicing” There are juices for everything in here, also tells ya the healing properties of most fruits, herbs and veges! Its really fascinating! This last week Ive been replacing my daily coffee for a ‘freshly juiced’ juice made by me. And I feel more alert and energised. Time for us designers to get juiced up and healthy, I say! 😀
Today I made a Cucumber, Celery, Fennel and Pear Juice…..it was delicious! Yesterday was a Carrot, Ginger and Apple Juice!
Feeding Your Skin – Carla Oates (Bondi’s Beauty Chief)
A book full of chemical free recipes to keep the skin and body healthy and radiant.
A Home Companion – Wendyl Nissen
This book is for anyone who finds themselves yearning to rid there house of nasty chemicals, nuture themselves and family. Is a great read and also has some fab recipes (like our grandmothers use to make)!!
Explore new things, look after ya whole body its your/our ‘vital tool’ to our imaginations! Enjoy Peeps! x
